Moon Milk has been popping up on all our Instagram and Pinterest feed. From aesthetically pleasing flat lays to indigenous home-made recipes, Moon milk has captured our feeds completely.

But what is Moon Milk?

Warmed-Up milk infused with herbs and spices, moon milk has been touted as a miracle worker for helping you snooze soundly. It can be garnished with edible flowers, spices, herbs, or a drizzle of honey. Ideally sipped daily before bedtime, moon milk contains a blend of adaptogens and spices to help inspire a blissful night’s rest.

Moon Milk has its roots in Ayurvedic medicine as a centuries-old holistic healing system. This is because moon milk features several Ayurvedic ingredients, such as turmeric and ashwagandha, a.k.a. Indian ginseng, a plant said to have anti-inflammatory properties. Ashwagandha has a lot of benefits that help in regulating all mental and physical systems. It contains powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-stress, and antioxidant effects boost immunity by increasing natural killer cells, improves symptoms associated with stress and anxiety and the quality of sleep while helping you deal with insomnia. 

Moon milk, however, has its roots in a similar warm milk beverage, sometimes called masala doodh, which is usually made with almonds, pistachios, turmeric, nutmeg, black pepper, dried rose petals, and other herbs and spices.
